Conferre in Latin means “to confer” or “to bring together”. The goal of the magazine is to bring together men and women from around the world who are seeking innovative solutions to a wide variety of social and economic problems. In other words, these are really cool people that I know will inspire you.
In this issue we focused on the theme of maternal health, number five on the MDG. Profiles in this issue include: Jenny Ling who works at the Unwed Mother’s Home in Penang, Malaysia, housing mothers as young as 12. World Connect, a Boston based organization empowering local leaders in many parts of the world. Morgan and Chamisa, Peace Corp volunteers in Costa Rica, helping mothers raise chickens and grow vegetables for a healthy family and community.
